You want to eat more turmeric, but don't know what to do with it? Here's an idea from our upcoming cookbook "Totally Turmeric."
This bright and versatile marinade is perfect for chicken, fish or pork, or a dressing for steamed vegetables. It can even be used to perk up beans and grains. It pairs the delicious sunshine tang of citrus with botanical cousins (and best friends) ginger and turmeric.
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup olive or grapeseed oil
1 TBSP sesame oil
1 TBSP fresh minced ginger, or 1 tsp dried ginger
1 ½ tsp turmeric powder
Zest and juice of 2 oranges
2 cloves garlic , smashed
Whisk ingredients together. Use to marinate chicken, fish, pork or beef, or use as a dressing over steamed vegetables, beans, grains -- whatever needs a sunny lift!
